Hardware Requirements for Acarda Messenger Phone Dialers
Acarda Messenger Advanced Edition has three templates the Sales Lead, the Client Call, and the Survey whereas the Standard Edition only has the Sales Lead template
Hardware Requirements for Acarda Messenger can be broken into three parts:
Computer Requirements
We recommend running telephony applications on a computer with Windows NT4/2000/XP. You can also use Windows 95 or 98 for smaller systems, but Windows NT4/2000/XP will give better performance. The minimum specification for the computer should be:
- Pentium II or equivalent
- Typically 32M RAM for 2 line version, (64M RAM for 4 line version).
- 1 ISA slot per ISA-compatible Dialogic card. Supports Windows 95/98
or
- 1 PCI slot per PCI-compatable Dialogic card. Supports Windows NT4/2000/XP.
PBX Requirements
Acarda Messenger require a PBX telephone system (or Centrex service) to transfer calls. However, if you do not intend to enable recipients to transfer back to someone within your company then you DO NOT require a PBX telephone system (or Centrex service) as a standard analog telephone line will be sufficient.
For our telephony applications to work, your telephone system (PBX or Centrex service) must be able to transfer calls by switch-hooking (ie momentarily disconnecting and then dialling the number you want to be transferred to), and sending DTMF tones. Most modern PBX's function in this way. If it is a digital PBX, you will need to have an analog card installed.
Dialogic Telephony Card Requirements

To connect the computer to your telephone line you require a professional Dialogic Telephony Card. For information on purchasing Dialogic Cards, click here.
Acarda Messenger will work with:
- Dialog/4
- D4/PCI
- D/41D
- D/21D
- D/41E
- D4/41ESC
- D21/H
- D41/H
- Proline/2V
- and other compatable cards.
All these these cards (except D/4PCI) are ISA format and can be used with 95/98. The D/4PCI is a PCI card and is only supported by NT4/2000/XP.
We recommend the Dialog/4 four port card or the D/4PCI card. The D/4PCI card needs a PCI slot in your computer, whereas the Dialog/4 card requires a spare ISA slot.
Note: When ordering your Dialogic card, remember to order the Dialogic Driver CD-Rom disk. The Dialogic driver you need depends on the operating system of your computer:
- Windows NT/2000/XP: SR5.1
- Windows 95/98: use Windows 95 driver with PTR5083
You can download PTR 5083 here.
If you don't receive the drivers with your card, you can purchase them on CD from here, or you can find out about downloading them here.
